“All The Way Through” by TV Girl
The simplest way of describing “All The Way Through” is perhaps as a song of infatuation. That is to say that the most discernible sentiment permeating throughout is a desire on the part of the vocalist to get with the addressee, as in right here, right now. Furthermore, it clearly reads as if this is a romantic interest, apparently one whom Brad is interacting with at a social gathering, such as a party.
The above premise relatedly brings us to the title, where he is telling this individual that “they were looking all the way through you”. What he appears to be saying in that regard is theoretically something like even though she’s garnered a lot of attention, presumably from other guys at the gathering, they weren’t generally interested, as he is.
And that understanding is made more plausible by the fact that each verse also begins with the singer noting his similarities to the addressee, as if he’s trying to say that the two of them were meant to hook up. Or put more bluntly, it’s as if Brad is trying to seduce this lady, i.e. ‘skipping’ the formalities and heading straight ‘to her room’.
