“Anyone” by Justin Bieber

The best way of describing the dispositional premise of Justin Bieber’s “Anyone” is as the singer taking on the character of a dude that is insecure in his relationship. Yes, perhaps the main sentiment being put across is that he does in fact love the addressee, his significant other. And the title of the track does point to the notion that he can’t even picture himself being with “anyone” else. But he is expressing such sentiments under the fear that he might lose her, even though she is assuring him that he won’t.

Collin Tilley directed the music video to this track. And it made international headlines more than the Biebs’ usual fare due to the fact that the singer went through painstaking effort to conceal the multitude of tattoos on his body. In fact said video was inspired by the Rocky movie franchise. And accordingly Bieber, who portrays the role of a boxer, appears shirtless. His decision to hide his tats likely has something to do with the fact that shortly before the release of this song, Justin had actually began studying to become a Christian minister.

An actress by the name of Zoey Deutch takes on the role of Bieber’s girlfriend in the music video.

Justin Bieber debuted this song on New Year’s Eve, 2020. It was officially released by Def Jam Records the following day, on 1 January 2021. And for the record, the Biebs had actually teased it as early as April 2020.

The producers of this song are Watt, Jon Bellion and The Monsters & Strangerz (i.e. Stefan Johnson, Eskeerdo and Jordan K. Johnson).  And all of those musicians also co-wrote “Anyone” in conjunction with Raul Cubina, Michael Pollack and the Biebs himself.
