When the 2020 pestilence hit, we anticipated that musicians were going to by all means drop music related to the situation. And indeed, we have already covered songs centered on the related newfound norms of quarantining and social distancing. But thus far this one is perhaps not only the most-realistic related to the matter but also the most-touching.

Due to lovers now literally being forced to stay together in a way they haven’t had to before some romantic relationships, even amongst some celebrities, have had their issues. Basically certain individuals have discovered that they are not as compatible with their partners as they had first thought. Indeed such is a natural reaction, so to speak, when you’re literally locked down with another person. That is to say that spending all day and night for weeks on an end with a particular individual can test your patience.

What this song is all about

But what the Biebs and Ari-Chan are putting forth in this tune is that they actually feel fortunate to be quarantined with their significant others. And going back to the realism of the lyrics, this is not to say that things are all lovey-dovey. In fact the singers tell their partners that they should ‘go ahead and drive them insane’, acknowledging that being with them all the time is in fact testing their patience. 

However, at the end of the day, the real moral of the song is that they are not going to let such challenges ruin the relationship.  Rather they intend to cherish as much quality time with their boos as possible. And this isn’t a case of simple puppy love. Instead, as Ariana points out in the first verse, the reason she is so dedicated is because even prior to the situation her lover has proven faithful.

So at the end of the day, the simplest way to describe this track is as a true love song. And as the title implies, the singers are dedicated to ‘sticking with’ their sweethearts no matter what.

Although Ariana and Bieber are long-time homeys, they don’t have an extensive collaboration history. In fact the only time they have officially teamed up was on the remix to Bieber’s track “What Do You Mean?” in 2015.
