Meaning of “Beside You” by James Blunt
The simplest way of understanding the thesis sentiment behind James Blunt’s “Beside You” is as it revolving around the vocalist’s desire for his romance to last. In expressing that longing, James in part relies on religious terminology, praying for the good fortune of the union, in a manner of speaking.
This is a love song though one that is imbued, in sort of an unorthodox way, with religious terminology.
