• This track was written by Khalid in conjunction with as many as five other songwriters. They are as follows: Tor Erik Hermansen, Charlie Handsome, Mikke Stoleer Eriksen, Denis Kosiak and Jamil Chammas.
• The song’s co-writer Charlie Handsome solely produced the track. It is worth noting that this isn’t the first time Handsome and Khalid have worked together. Handsome collaborated with Khalid and Normani on their 2018 hit single “Love Lies“.
• This track received its official release on 14th September, 2018. It is the fourth single by Khalid to be released in 2018. Prior to “Better”, Khalid collaborated with music producer/songwriter Benny Blanco and singer Halsey on the hit single “Eastside“, which reached number 1 in the UK.
• About three days before “Better” was officially released, Khalid whet fans’ appetite by tweeting the song’s cover art along with the words “Love to the 915 on 9/14. –✨ got a song for y’all”. The “9/14” in the message stands for September 14 – the day the song was officially released.
• Ahead of the song’s official release on September 14, Khalid performed it live at a concert in his hometown El Paso, Texas.
• Khalid sampled “Better” in another of his song titled “Motion“. That song appears on Khalid’s first EP Suncity. “Better” also appears on that EP. As a matter of fact  it was released as the lead single from that EP.

“It refers to the area code 915, which is the area code for the city El Paso located in west Texas. El Paso is where Khalid hails from. Throughout his career, Khalid has proudly let the world know of his endless love for his hometown of El Paso. And this is just one of the many ways he shows his affection for his city. Aside that, the song’s cover art also features the famous mountains of his hometown.
