“Bleed” by A Boogie wit da Hoodie
In this song, A Boogie presents himself purely as a bona fide streetwise individual. In fact it can be concluded that if he wasn’t preoccupied with his music career, he’d probably be out on the streets somewhere thuggin’. And there are also a couple of subthemes present. For instance, he tackles the issues of friendship and loyalty. But overall this track ultimately points to the ideas of the rapper being paid and street-conscious.
Writing and Production
The track’s producers, JoeFromYO alongside S.Dot, also aided A Boogie wit da Hoodie in writing the rap.
“Bleed” was meant to feature Pop Smoke
A Boogie originally conceptualized this song to serve as a collaboration with fellow NYC rapper Pop Smoke, who was murdered in February of 2020. As such, he considers “Bleed” as a tribute to the late rapper.
