“Luv Is Art” by A Boogie wit da Hoodie (ft. Lil Uzi Vert)

“Luv Is Art” is a song in which A Boogie wit da Hoodie alongside fellow rapper Lil Uzi Very basically rhyme about two different subject matters. A Boogie’s primary focus is on his romantic relationship with a certain lady.  And he presents it as one which, though enjoyable sensually, has its fair share of other issues. This is on top of him questioning if she’s just in the relationship due to his cashflow.

And whereas Uzi Vert does back up his narrative to some degree in the chorus and his first verse by likewise rapping about a female, his second verse is more gang-oriented. In that passage he forsakes the romantic theme altogether and references his “shooters” and how he’s more or less superior to his opps.

Also scattered throughout are various references to the artists’ wealth. So this song features the three main themes you would expect from your average rap song – money, girls and violence. But that does not negate the fact that A Boogie still spins an interesting narrative, and Uzi Vert also happens to be one of the best lyricists in the game at the moment.
