What this song ultimately seems to be about, in a roundabout way, is the vocalist’s distrust of women. And the reason PartyNextDoor is beefing about his lady’s “old friends” is because as he sees it, it is a girl’s buddies who encourage her to cheat. Or as relayed more specifically, they will not dissuade her from going out and having sex with other guys.
But the lyrics themselves do not stick faithfully to that topic. Or rather, let’s say that they do harp on cheating women throughout. However, along the way, PartyNextDoor takes on a braggadocious approach, rather focusing on how he sleeps with other guys’ – even “these other rappers” – girlfriends while they’re unaware.
So conclusively, this piece goes about presenting women in a manner in which they are not to be trusted from a romantic/sexual perspective. As relayed, if given the opportunity and left to their own devices (or that of their friends), they will cheat. So what’s being further inferred is that the vocalist doesn’t really like his girl hanging out and stuff like that and keeps tabs on her accordingly.
