“Split Decision” by PARTYNEXTDOOR

The titular “split decision” is an emotional dilemma PartyNextDoor’s significant other is faced with after ‘catching him with another woman’. Or succinctly put, the singer was caught cheating by his girlfriend. And in terms of said decision, for the most part the lyrics indicate that she did indeed dump him as a result of his infidelity. 

And whereas the bulk of the song is based on the singer acknowledging this reality, it can be said that the primary sentiment it all boils down to, as best illustrated in the first verse and interlude, is him begging her to come back.

So with that in mind, we can say this song is sentimental founded on the singer’s sorrow in terms of losing the woman he loves due to his own actions.

“Split Decision” was released by OVO Sound and Warner Records on 28 February 2020. On that day, it became the fourth single issued thus far from PartyNextDoor’s forthcoming album, which is entitled “PartyMobile”.
