“How You Like That” by Blackpink

According to Blackpink member Jisoo, the underlying message of “How You Like That” is to serve as an encouragement during dark times. Simply put, it is based on the concept of remaining positive and strong during dire times. And whom it seems the girls are addressing is a romantic interest and/or some type of hater, i.e. an enemy. And the way the lyrics read are as if said individual(s) was basically mocking the singer when she was down. However, she was in fact able to persevere, overcome the situation and prosper.  So she is basically flaunting the fact that now she is even doing better than this same person who mocked her when she was down.
