The character in this song seems to already possess these qualities but the singer enforces it while encouraging her to do as she pleases. Shawn praises her for her spirited attitude, saying that he likes it when she doesn’t care about what others think of her. He inspires her to live to the fullest and not be afraid of making mistakes, because they are the best teachers. He admits that this kind of life might hurt others but they would have to ignore this and be the soul of the party.

Shawn also seems to be taking his lover to a place that demands that she let go of her past and live in the moment. This is probably why he beckons her to come out as there’s nothing hindering them from doing what they want. At the same time he emboldens her not to give up or allow negative people limit her energy.
