The chorus of “Be Like Me” features Lil Pump and Lil Wayne more or less mocking people who copy their styles, particularly when it comes to trying to imitate the luxurious living that they enjoy.

And Pump’s verse begins along the same line, with him shining light on his mimickers, even as he admonishes them to do their own thing since he isn’t type of person who should be emulated. Then he gives a shoutout to Kanye West as another person people want to be like. And the rest of his verse is basically about his lifestyle, especially in relation to drug abuse and his interactions with women.

Lil Wayne’s verse is a bit more specific, as he addresses the entire generation of youth who have been influenced by his style – something clearly made evident from the existence of the likes of “Lil” Pump.  However, he doesn’t take any subliminal jabs at his collaborator but instead bigs him up as the one carrying “the pump”, while Weezy rocks “the M-16”. Ultimately, Lil Wayne’s verse jumps through a variety of topics, complete with the clever metaphors that have made him a household name in the music community. However, the main sentiment he seems to be expressing – as with the track overall – is that imitators cannot properly copy his style. And why does he say that? Simply because they don’t have his level of success, wealth or talent. In fact he concludes his section by asserting there is indeed only one Weezy.
