“Still Disappointed” by Stormzy

“Still Disappointed” is the fourth track dropped in the beef between Stormzy and fellow UK grime artist Wiley, which kicked off the year 2020 with a bang.  And with each new song introduced into the saga, it seems the lyrics get increasingly personal in terms of the insults being launched. For instance, in the first “Disappointed”, Stormzy brought Wiley’s brother and father into the equation. 

Wiley countered in “Eediyat Skengman 2” by threatening Stormzy’s mother.  And near the beginning of “Still Disappointed” Stormzy acknowledges this by stating that Wiley “love(s) to talk about mums so much”. And as you have probably already gathered, this subsequently leads to Stormzy counter-dissing Wiley’s mom, in fact relaying a lengthy, scathing exposition against her. 

To make a long story short, it seems he did his research beforehand to make his disses as historically-verifiable as possible, with the overall sentiment being that she never had a “real man in the house”. Indeed Stormzy presents himself as someone who wants to “bend her”, as in become her lover and the male figure which the family needs. And this is on top of once again stating, as he did in “Disappointed”, that he bested Wiley’s brother. 

Moreover this time around Stormzy goes as far as calling his rival’s sister a “little b—-”.  And of course all of this is on top of more or less threatening Wiley physically. But he concludes the song by once again alluding to why this track is called “Still Disappointed” in the first place. And that is because he has come to realize that someone he “thought it was love” with, Wiley, actually has “sour” feelings for him.

Release Date of “Still Disappointed”

This song was released on 8 January 2020. This was just one day after Wiley dropped the “Eediyat Skengman 2” diss track against Stormzy.
