“Disappointed” by Stormzy

“Disappointed” is yet another chapter in the feud between Stormzy and fellow UK grime artist Wiley. By extension it includes the likes of Jay-Z, with Stormzy namedropping “Jigga” to ultimately insinuate that Wiley is a second-rate artist. There are also other musicians on the periphery of this tiff, such as another grime musician known as Cadell. He is never directly namedropped in the tune, but Stormzy references him extensively. Cadell is actually Wiley’s younger half-brother. And what the Wicked Skengman is saying is that when he had beef with Cadell, Wiley sided with him instead of his own sibling.

And that particular tale, even though all things considered it is meant to be diss, is also related to the title and overall theme of this song. That is up until recently Stormzy was under the impression that he and Wiley were cool. But the actions of the latter, such a dropping diss track against Stormzy, now has the Skengman “disappointed” in Wiley.

So in addition to touting himself as a more successful musician whom Wiley is just trying to capitalize on via beef, Stormzy basically disses his entire “fam(ily) full of rejects” and threatens to kick his behind if the opportunity arises.
