“Tone Deaf” by Eminem

On “Tone Deaf”, Slim Shady acknowledges that he is nearing the age of 50. However, the song itself contains the same type of shocking, potentially off-putting lyrics that would likely remind listeners of Eminem raps from 20 years ago. And that seems to be exactly the point behind the tune. In other words, when the rapper states that he is “tone deaf”, that’s a roundabout way of exclaiming that he is a difficult person to get through to. Or stated differently, he’s not privy to entertaining others’ opinions. And as such he “won’t stop” being who he is until he’s aged or gets ‘canceled’.
