“We’re Not Friends” by Jacob Sartorius

The narrator (Jacob Sartorius) has reached a point where he can no longer tolerate being stuck in the friend zone with the addressee. As far as he’s concerned, he has put in enough time and signs to let her know that his feelings for her are actually romantic.  Moreover he has been a good, faithful friend, always being there for her when she has issues to air out. Indeed based on the intro, it seems that she sometimes even talks to him about her boyfriend. But now enough is enough. Jacob is telling her straight-up that they “are not friends”. And no, that is not to insinuate that he doesn’t care for her, nor is he trying to be mean. Rather let’s say that implicitly he is giving her an ultimatum. Either she is going to entertain the idea of receiving him as a romantic partner, or their relationship, as it stands now, is going to end.
