“Where Are You Now” by Lost Frequencies & Calum Scott

It is quite obvious in this song ( “Where Are You Now”), even though it isn’t explicitly stated, that the addressee is the vocalist’s romantic interest and more to the intended point his ex. And by the looks of things, at one time they were extremely close, i.e. soulmates living their lives together. But somewhere along the line, she completely vanished from his life.

So as suggested by the title, the vocalist is now questioning her whereabouts. And as he metaphorically puts it in the chorus, she remains ‘like his favorite song going around his head’. And such is actually a colorful yet easy-to-understand way of Calum putting forth that he is totally unable to forget about this person.

But that said, this can be considered a song of hope. That’s because the vocalist seems convinced that one day his love will return. But as for now, anxiously awaiting her re-arrival, the question remains as to the addressee’s current whereabouts.

It’s totally about coc–ne and nothing to do with his ex. 5 days on the freeway, 5 day rollover, where are you now, means it’s not there when you need it.
