“You Are the Reason” is a ballad written and performed by British singer Calum Scott. The lyrics of this ballad find the narrator (Calum) struggling with the demise of a relationship. He wishes he could reverse the hand of the clock to be with his lover again but it’s apparently too late.
From his own words, it’s so clear this former lover of his left him as a result of something he did. He regrets whatever he did and repeatedly pleads with her to come back to him.
In the chorus, Calum implies there’s nothing in this world he wouldn’t do to be with her once again and fix what he’s broken.

- The music video for this ballad was shot in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

It is a lovely song and it is heart warming.
Even though this song is about a heartbreak It reminds me of how much my dad meant to me. In the song lyrics it says I’d climb every mountain just to be with you. And that’s exactly what i’d do to be with my dad every day. He went five whole years cancer free but the doctor said if it came back it would be way more powerful than the last time. Sadly It came back like an old sore and he got septic because the “port” or valve that goes into his blood stream got severely infected. The nurse put the “new” port in the same spot that the old one was and that made him even more sick. He Passed the day my oldest brother came home from serving in the U.S Air Force. My brother got to see him one last time before he went up in the sky and stopped his suffering.

My own understanding of this song is that; it is a song of a cheater who terribly losses in the end. A cheater who only realized his stupid decision and trying to undo the undoable and stupid enough to decide rashly just because he is totally stupid and [expletive] up again. I mean, after he cheated, he is trying to cheat again with the person he cheated in the past. [expletive] cheater. I don’t hate the song but my wife keep singing it and i hate it. PEACE!
If you’ve seen the video for “No Matter What”, which is even more of a tearjerker, than you should either leave out pronouns, as he did in this song, or be honest and say “his”.

I love You Are The Reason because it actually has a meaning to it and it makes me regret some of things that I did in my life.
This song reminds me of something really sad, but it gets into my feelings all the time a listen to it.

This song reminds me of my fluffy son who I lost recently to cancer. He was I Ly 5years old and we tried so many things to keep him healthy happy and alive. In the end his body gave out. He was the sweetest bestest boy. He was our reason.
