About “Again and Again”

The song addresses the devastating nature of failure or mistakes. As he describes in the verses, once you make mistakes, it is likely to keep ringing in your head and cause you to stagnate. Despite this being a normal phenomenon, the singer encourages his listeners to not allow their mistakes get the better of them. Instead, they should learn their lessons, keep their head up and strive to be better.

In the chorus and second verse, Tree admits that he has repeatedly failed but also realizes that everyone makes mistakes. The power to alter the outcome of events however lies in one’s ability to not stay in a defeated mode, but to aim for the best in trying to change how one’s situation ends.

Tree, who first named the song in an interview with AltPress has explained that the song is about how you can still change the outcome of an event despite negative things happening repeatedly.
