“Can’t Get Over You” is a collaboration between Japanese-Australian singer Joji and American record producer/songwriter Clams Casino. In this song’s lyrics, Joji is so possessed by the love he feels for someone that he is ready to do whatever it takes to get her attention and have her.
As Joji sings, it becomes abundantly clear that he and the girl were once in a relationship. However, for some reason, the girl left him. Now Joji can’t seem to get thoughts of her out of his mind. He wants her back but she’s unwilling to come back to him.

In the song’s chorus, Joji talks of how he can’t get over her and how he wishes that someday they could be together again. He wraps up the chorus with the line “If I can’t have you, no one can”. This dark line shows how much he has become obsessed with her. This is a very scary development!

Everyone knows that box cutters are used for cutting things. So why would Joji need one? And why is her name on it? What does he intend using the cutter to cut?

My take of the song is a man that falls madly in love with a famous actress (or whatever, just famous something), but since she doesn’t even know about his existence she isn’t with him. He even questions in the second set of verses if he could get used to her lifestyle. He goes mad with love, tracking her down and kidnapping or trapping her or something. He then tries to get her to love him, but when she doesnt reciprocate and begins to plead to be let go, he becomes psychotic and kills her with the box cutter. “If I can’t have you, no one can.”
