“Forever” by Charli XCX

This song is partially based on Charli XCX’s real-life relationship with a guy named Huck Kwong. It is also premised on the fact that, due to the 2020 pandemic, they are not able to see each other as much as idealized. But what she is telling the addressee, i.e. her romantic interest, is that even though they are not physically together he will be in her thoughts “forever”. So the song takes on a more-lasting tone than just a temporary situation, as in she is exercising the idea that perhaps they will never see each other again.
