Whether in the form of taking illicit substances, having unscrupulous affairs with women or engaging in some type of violent crime, “Mannequin Challenge” is a song celebrating the loose nature of the featured rappers. In fact the only time the title of the song, “mannequin challenge”, is actually mentioned in the lyrics is when Juice WRLD uses the phrase as part of a metaphor seemingly alluding to the idea of he and Young Thug robbing a place using guns.

So succinctly put, this callabo is one in which the artists’ are touting their peculiar lifestyles. And they present themselves as individuals who spend a good portion of their time engaging in bedroom adventures with women and unlawful behavior. And whereas there are relatively-few direct references to wealth in “Mannequin Challenge”, the general inference is that they are well-off enough to enjoy such freewheeling ways of life.

This song is named after the Mannequin Challenge. This challenge is a viral social-media based video trend from 2016 in which participants were required to remain still like a mannequin upon hearing the introduction of a certain rap song.

Is this Young Thug’s first collabo with Juice WRLD?

No. Young Thug and WRLD can be classified as regular collaborators, considering that they have already recorded an entire project together. However, on 16 August 2019 “Mannequin Challenge” became just the third track officially released by the pair thus far, with the first being 2018’s “Red Bentley”.

“Mannequin Challenge” was released as one of the songs on Young Thug’s 2019 album (So Much Fun). Other notable tracks from So Much Fun include: “Hot” and “Just How It Is“.
