“Mercy” by Kanye West (ft. Big Sean, Pusha T & 2 Chainz)

Kanye West’s “Mercy” is based primarily on two subjects. The first two rappers, Big Sean and Pusha T, focus on their “pimp game”. Or stated differently, their lyrics are centered on their interactions with the opposite sex. And from what is being said, we can see that Sean likes women with big behinds. Meanwhile Pusha T is bragging about how he has ample drugs and money on hand to entertain romantic interests. And the chorus itself is based on a similar theme, where the artists are seducing “thirsty” women with their wealth.

Meanwhile Kanye and 2 Chainz, who respectively hold down the latter two verses, are more intent on boasting about their wealth and standing. In other words, Kanye isn’t talking about womanizing nor threatening to sleep with someone else’s girlfriend. But he does let it be known that he is the man and that his woman is superior to your own. 2 Chainz also doesn’t even mention women in his verse. Rather his words center on his lavish possessions and wild lifestyle.

And in keeping with the theme of the artists’ wealth, the title of this song actually points to a particularly-pricey car called the Lamborghini Murciélago (Mercy for short).
