“Paranoia” by Pop Smoke (ft. Pusha T, Young Thug & Gunna)

Pop Smoke’s “Paranoia” is themed on the artists being ‘paranoid’. In other words, they are under the impression that someone may try to rob them and/or do them physical harm in some other way. However, they counter these feelings by basically keeping the gat close and being prepared to spray on a moment’s notice. And the track is also notable for giving numerous shoutouts to the “Woo”, i.e. the Brooklyn-based street gang which Pop Smoke belonged to.

“Paranoia” was released on 4 July 2020. This was just one day after the release of Pop Smoke’s critically acclaimed posthumous album. Said album is entitled “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”. And according to the artist’s manager, Steven Victor, this exclusion was due to some sort of oversight.

This track marks Smoke’s first collaboration with either Young Thug or Pusha T.  However, he did team up with Gunna earlier in 2020 on the remix of his track “Dior”.

Pop Smoke and his collaborators (Young Thug, Pusha T and Gunna) wrote this song. They wrote it alongside its producer, 808Melo.
