“Skateboard” by Jacob Sartorius

Although calling this a love song would be a stretch, the lyrics of this track are premised on the Jacob Sartorius’ romantic life. Or more specifically Jacob comes off as someone who is troubled in that regard, seemingly dealing with an unfaithful or estranged girlfriend. But he remedies the mental anguish he is going through in the same way he tends to handle stress in general. And that is by throwing on some headphones, playing his favorite music, finding “one hell of a hill” and enjoying himself on his skateboard.  Indeed spending the day on a skateboard, riding around the ‘hood, is an effective way for young Jacob to ‘forget his problems’.

“Skateboard” Facts

Jacob didn’t compose “Skateboard”. Its composition was done by noted American singer and songwriter Julia Michaels. Julia wrote it with Ian Kirkpatrick (who eventually produced the entire track).

In addition to co-writing this, Julia also sings the background vocals on it.

“Skateboard” was released by Jacob’s team in August of 2017. It was one of the certified singles the team released from his second EP. Said EP is titled “Left Me Hangin'”. It produced two other singles, namely:
