“Swervin” by A Boogie wit da Hoodie (Featuring 6ix9ine)

“Swervin” is a hip hop song by American rappers A Boogie wit da Hoodie (A Boogie) and 6ix9ine. On this track, the narrators (Boogie and 6ix9ine) talk about a bunch of things that are apparently of importance to them. Among these things they rap about include violence, money and wild affairs with women. They basically glorify the aforementioned things.

In the song’s chorus, the theme moves away from the glorification of a violent lifestyle to a woman (who is apparently very attractive). Boogie, who handles the chorus, compliments this woman very profusely. He tells her how she looks so perfect and much he loves her surface. Furthermore, he mentions that she’s swervin’ and curvin’.

It’s not exactly clear what he means by the terms “swervin’” and “curving’”. So in attempt to find out what these terms mean, we did a little research on our own and came up with the definitions below.

Meaning of Swervin’

Swervin” is a pretty common informal term used primarily in colloquial vocabulary in the United States. It has a number of meanings. Of all the meanings of this word, the nearest to the song’s theme is the following:

  • A girl is said to be swervin’ a guy when the guy repeatedly tries kissing her and she continually dodges the kiss.

Meaning of Curvin’

Curvin‘ is another pretty common term the slang world. It can mean any of the following:

  • The process of rejecting someone who has showed interest in you.
  • The process of avoiding being kissed by someone by moving one’s head to a different direction when someone leans in to kiss you.

The words in question only appear in the song’s chorus. There, they are used by Boogie to describe the gorgeous woman he’s interested in. Apparently Boogie is glad that she’s turning down all the men that come her way.
