“Tears Don’t Fall” by Birdy
“Tears Don’t Fall” is obviously a breakup song. Furthermore, it is one of those types whereas the vocalist is expressing a preference to look back on her past romance favorably. There are lines in this song which, on the surface, may read like they sorta contradict themselves. But ultimately, what it boils down to is Birdy having really relished the experience of the being with the addressee. So now that they are parting ways, she is doing so with “no regrets” in joyful remembrance of how happy they were as a couple.

This is the 11th and closing Birdy’s album “Portraits”, which Atlantic Records released on 18 August 2023. Two of the behind-the-scenes’ musicians heavily involved in the project, King Ed and Anya Jones, wrote “Tears Don’t Fall” with Birdy, with she and King Ed also producing the track.
