“Thunder” by SHAED

SHAED’s “Thunder” can perhaps best be classified as a protest song. More pointedly the singer is encouraging the addressees to cause a ruckus, if you will, in the name of fighting for a certain cause. Indeed the title is indicative of her idealized vociferous approach to dealing with this issue.

Now said cause is not specified, nor are the addressees identified. All we know is that they are “few” in number. And the overall insinuation is that their opponents are more numerous and powerful than they are.  So basically what the singer is calling for is something akin to a unified, persistent and vocal methodology in bringing about their desired change.

So conclusively, this is the kind of track which can be applied to any scenario where individuals are fighting for a cause though may feel overpowered.  Indeed considering that Chelsea Lee is calling on people ‘wherever they are’ to stand up and “get loud like thunder”, we can even presume that she is espousing some type of global protest. But all things considered, her angst is probably spurred by a number of pressing problems which face the world during the time of this track’s release. For as aforementioned whereas it is clear that something is bothering her as well as the addressees, it is never put forth what exactly this issue is.
