“Weird!” by Yungblud
What the title of this song actually refers to is a “weird time of life” that the singer is going through. And whereas Yungblud intentionally released this track during the 2020 pandemic, apparently “Weird!” was recorded before the outbreak began. That means that although the artist wants it to have more of a general alleviating effect, the lyrics are actually quite personal. And we can say that based on his various explanations of the song, what they ultimately point to is a strong sense of worrying, uncontrollable depression.
But the reason Yungblud decided to drop it at a time like this is not only due to the weirdness, uncertainty and peril of the era we live in.
