Aurora’s “A Temporary High” Lyrics Meaning  

The presumption, even though Aurora didn’t necessarily explain it as so, is that this is sorta akin to a love song, i.e. the subject being the romantic interest of the addressee. Or it’s kinda like the vocalist, who is not the subject, is advising the addressee on how to handle this kind of lady, one who, once again resorting to Aurora’s own words, is “very fascinating”.

And to be totally honest, even though the lyrics of this song aren’t complicated, it isn’t abundantly clear what the vocalist is intended to get at. But one feasible explanation is that she’s basically saying something like this woman’s love is very potent. 

So as far as the addressee(s) is concerned, he “better hope her love is not a temporary high”, which we will take as meaning that he should hope she doesn’t decide to love him and leave, now that he’s been smitten by her beauty or whatever.

So all lyrics and explanations considered, it may be that what Aurora is more simply getting at is the subject being a boss chick, i.e. one that a man can easily get whipped by. But whereas others may quickly fall in love with her, she’s not the settling down type. 

Indeed as put forth in the first verse, “her love is a temporary high”. So if you are one of said individuals who does in fact find yourself smitten by the woman, “you better hope” that she doesn’t end up treating you like one of her transient lovers.

Release Date

The release date of this track was on 21 January 2022. It served as the sixth single from the aforementioned album. The album’s first single, which came out in May of 2020, is “Exist for Love“.
