“Before You” by Benson Boone
Benson Boone’s “Before You” is a love song. Its lyrics ultimately read like one of those types where the singer is putting forth that his life has been holistically edified via his relationship with the addressee.
This is a new romance he’s speaking to, but again, Benson is so smitten that he’s having a hard time remembering what his existence was like “before” he hooked up with this lady, thus explaining the title.
Well actually, the vocalist does remember most basically that he was in a less-than-ideal state. He remembers being lonely, disenfranchised and having lost hope in ever scoring true love. But now we find him even jumping on an airplane in the name of meeting up with his new boo. And upon the two of them getting acquainted, let’s just say that Benson is not disappointed in the least.

Benson Boone is famous for being the man who walked away from American Idol even though Katy Perry reportedly predicted that he would win his season.
On the 28th of October, 2022, Boone continued with the progression of his self-initiated singing career with the issuance of “Before You”, his fourth single overall.
The track was released through Night Street Records in conjunction with Warner Records. Both of these labels actually signed Boone, under the direction of Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds (who founded the former), in 2021.

This track was produced by Jason Suwito, who also had a hand in co-writing it with Benson Boone. Jack LaFrantz and Casey Smith are also co-writers of “Before You”.
Prior to “Before You”, Boone had become known for his sad songs. According to him, he is hoping that this song would change that reputation about him.
He has referred to “Before You” as “being in love” with a very special person who you believe from the depths of your heart is your world. He went on to refer to this song as a very special one to him.
