“Bussdown” by Blueface (ft. Offset)

“Bussdown” is a colloquial term that is actually derived from the old-school slang phrase ‘bust down’, which has multiple meanings. In more-recent years, the word “bussdown”, as Blueface uses it in the title, has come to mean an expensive, iced-out watch. However, throughout the track he and his collaborator, the Migos’ Offset, use it as a homonym with the aforementioned ‘bust down’ as well as the phrase “bus down” in a variety of applications outside of jewelry.

You can view the lyrics, alternate interprations and sheet music for Blueface's Bussdown at Lyrics.org.

For instance, in the chorus, Blueface states that he “used to ride the bus down”. This is likely meant to allude to his come-up, as in his humble beginnings when he had to ride to public transportation. Then there is, as brought up earlier, his “bussdown”, i.e. his ice. Then Offset apparently uses the term in that same regard when referring to his “bussdown Cuban”. He also notes that he will “bust down your thot”, basically meaning that ‘Set will sleep with your girlfriend just for the hell of it.

Thus this track serves primarily as an ode to Blueface’s and Offset’s riches. There are other topics discussed, such as their willingness to “put a hole” in ‘opps’, as in gun down enemies. But overall, as the title suggests, the artist brag about various ways in which their wealth is manifest.
