“2 Live” by Hit-Boy and Offset

The title of this song is in fact a reference to the 2 Live Crew, the 1990s’ Deep South rap act which helped establish the likes of strippers as norms in the hip-hop community. And likewise, the reason Hit-Boy goes about shouting out Uncle Luke and co. is because the chorus of this track centers on a lady who appears to be unashamedly out twerking in public, doing it for the ‘gram.

The verses also serve as an ode to such women, i.e. the types who model on OnlyFans for instance, using their sexiness to generate income. And whereas many guys may not be compelled to celebrate such ladies openly, the likes of Offset and Hit-Boy obviously don’t care, since they have the bank to attract the “freaky” types they prefer.

The above would indeed be the thesis sentiment of this piece. Put simply, the vocalists have an affinity for hot women who aren’t apprehensive about displaying what their momma gave them.
