As can be derived from the title, this is a remix of Blueface’s 2018 hit “Thotiana” though this time featuring Grammy Award winner Cardi B. Blueface’s contribution is the same as in the original, meaning he didn’t add any new raps to the song, though there have been modifications to the chorus.
The basic purpose of “Thotiana”, according to Blueface himself, is to serve as somewhat of a st**p club anthem. In this song, he basically plays the role of a guy enjoying the services of “thot” as they’re sometimes referred to.
Cardi never comes off overtly as a woman of ill repute. Instead her verse is primarily dedicated to her own sensual proficiency. In other words, it’s like Blueface is playing the role of the giver, while B is the receiver. However, Cardi makes numerous references to her ability to take control in the bedroom also.
In the original version of this song, when Blueface chants “on the gang” it seemed like he was referring to soliciting intimate favors for his homeys. But now that Cardi also uses the same expression, the meaning becomes more apparent, as they are giving shoutouts to real life street gangs. FYI, Blueface is a known member of the Crips, while Cardi B has a long-standing affiliation with the Bloods street gang. And whereas these are two rival organizations, apparently that feud does not prevent members from teaming up to produce hit music.
