“Can’t Wait To Be Dead” by FINNEAS
According to Finneas’s own explanation of “Can’t Wait to be Dead”, even though the lyrics are open to interpretation by the audience, for him in particular it’s about his “relationship with the internet”. More specifically it is meant, in large part, to encapsulate his feelings about the news headlines which dominated 2020 along the lines of the following:
- racism
- politics
- the COVID-19 pandemic
But he also has fun on the track, with wording pointing to some of the whacky things one will also find online. But conclusively, as indicated by the title, the singer is sick and tired of what’s going on over the world wide web. In fact as indicated by the chorus, it would seem that at least mentally he has already tuned out.
The director of the music video to this track is Constellation Jones (aka Clark Johnson).
