“CLASH” by Ariana Grande & BLACKPINK

Rumors of the arrival of “CLASH” began circulating during August of 2019. That’s when TBHits, a producer who works regularly with Ariana Grande, posted media online letting it be known that he was in fact chillin’ as well as working with Blackpink.

Heading into the middle of 2020, Ariana and Blackpink have never collaborated on a song which has actually released. However, there are reportedly a couple of tracks in the works which feature them working together. One track, “Stop the World”, is alongside Demi Lovato. And the other, “How You Like That (Remix)”, is in conjunction with Ty Dolla $ign.

“Clash” itself is expected to be featured on Grande’s follow-up to 2019’s “Thank U, Next”, which was her fifth-studio album. And as of mid-2020 her sixth project has yet to be named.

Even though heading into the second half of 2019, Blackpink has yet to have dropped a track alongside Grande, the two acts still have a history together. For instance, they linked up at the 2019 edition of the Coachella Music Festival.

And here’s an interesting fact. If you’ll remember, there was a terrible terrorist bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena on the date of 22 May 2017.  Well the day prior, 21 May 2019, Blackpink performed at the selfsame venue.

Blackpink has teamed up with a couple of Western artists as of early 2020. For instance, they collaborated with Dua Lipa on the 2018 track “Kiss and Make Up”, which proved to be an international hit. And in May of 2020 they dropped a song called “Sour Candy” alongside Lady Gaga.

And Ariana Grande, aka Ari-Chan, is no complete stranger to the Far East herself. In fact she is known to be especially fond of Japanese culture and has even been learning the language.
