‘Forever Young’ officially came out on June 20, 2018. It is the second track of BLACKPINK’s first mini-album Square Up.
Work on ‘Forever Young’ actually began much earlier in 2015. At the time, BLACKPINK members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose, were trainees under YG Entertainment. However, the song was released 3 years later.
Upon its unveiling, ‘Forever Young’ went on to peak at number 36 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 Charts. It came in 2nd on Korea’s Melon Charts and 5th on China’s QQ Music Chart. It was also nominated for the Song of the Year category at the 8th Gaon Chart Music Awards.
