“Hit or Miss” by Jacob Sartorius

“Hit or Miss” is actually a dual-themed song. The chorus basically serves as a metaphor espousing the idea of not being preoccupied with the cares of life – or according to Jacob’s own explanation “having fun” and “just living in the moment”. That is the subject matter upon which the chorus is based. Meanwhile, the actual verses feature the singer basically chasing a girl. He’s trying to get her on the dance floor and more to the point convince her that she is the one for him. So combining these two themes, it can be said that part of his overall sales’ pitch, especially in terms of getting an opportunity to dance with the apple of his eye, is simultaneously letting her know that they should be committed to enjoying today as opposed to ‘worrying about tomorrow’.
