Justin Bieber is a Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter from Canada whose international breakthrough to stardom arrived with the release of his hit single title Baby. He went on to gain further stardom with the release of such hit songs as Where Are Ü Now, Love Yourself and What Do You Mean?. Bieber is considered one of the world’s most successful singers of all time.

Bieber was born on 1st March 1994 in Ontario, Canada to Patricia Marlette and Jeremy Bieber who once worked as a carpenter. He has two younger half siblings called Jazmyn and Jaxon. Between 2010 and 2012, Bieber was in a romantic relationship with American singer Selena Gomez.

In 2011, Forbes magazine placed Bieber at the third position on its Forbes Celebrity 100 list, which is a list of the world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities. He went on to appear in the 2012 and 2013 lists, occupying the third and ninth positions respectively.

In 2014, Bieber found himself in hot waters when two videos of himself using the highly offensive N word surfaced. In one of the videos, Bieber could be heard saying the words “One less lonely n*****” parodying his hit song One Less Lonely Girl. Bieber later apologized profusely for the videos.

Throughout the course of his career, he has been arrested on multiple occasions for a number of offences ranging from assault to DUI.

In 2014, Bieber’s arrest for driving under the influence led to a petition to the White House to deport him from the United States. Despite the petition receiving over 273,000 signatures, Bieber wasn’t deported.

Bieber became the first musician in the world to have their total video views on on the famous video hosting website Vevo exceeding 10 billion.

According to Bieber, his musical inspirations include Michael Jackson, Usher, Boyz II Men and Justin Timberlake.

Bieber has entered into the Guinness World Records on numerous occasions. For example, in 2015, he was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the youngest musician to peak at the first position on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Bieber won the first Grammy Award of his career in 2016 for the song Where Are Ü Now (with EDM DJ duo Jack Ü).

Bieber inspired the 2020 song by Smoke Boys and Dizzee Rascal titled “Justin Bieber“.
