“Me Traicionaste” by Rosalía Ft. A.CHAL
“Me Traicionaste” is a bilingual (but mostly-Spanish) track that is featured on “For the Throne”, the soundtrack to the eighth and final season of the HBO series “Game of Thrones”. And the title of this song translates to “You Betrayed Me” in the English language.
This track is not believed to be based on the plot of “Game of Thrones” per se but rather how Rosalía herself has interpreted the going-ons in the world of Westeros. Meanwhile others have speculated that it is actually based on the show but is centered on a yet-to-be-revealed story between siblings Jaime and Cersei Lannister. Indeed the lyrics of the track itself seems to be based on some type of conflict, which Rosalía concluding the song by stating “you really want to play games with me”, as in issuing a challenge to the addressee of this statement.
Apparently being able to accurately ascertain whether “Me Traicionaste” was derived directly from a “Game of Thrones” plot line remains to be seen. However it is clear that its fiery content, as the title of album it is featured on illuminates, was definitely inspired by that show.
