Ava Max’s “On Somebody” finds her dealing with romantic heartbreak. She and her ex seem to have parted ways sometime prior. And for the most part she feels that such was for the best. However, seeing him with his hands “on somebody” else has sparked her sorrow afresh. 

Or another way of explaining it is that she thought she was more or less over him, until she saw him moving with another lady. In fact she is so disturbed by this realty that when she witnesses such it shows in her body language. So now she has come to realize just how much she still loves him. 

But the song ends with the situation apparently being unresolved, as in this emotional distress being something she will have to deal with into the foreseeable future.

This track was released on 30 December 2019. This made it Ava Max’s final song of 2019, which many deemed to have been her breakout year.

She also co-wrote this tune along with N. Cyphert, L. Scinta and J. Evigan.

And J. Evigan is also one of the track’s co-producers, as is Cirkut.

“On Somebody” appears on Ava’s debut album. On that same project appears Ava’s global hit single “Sweet But Psycho“.
