“P2” by Lil Uzi Vert

The main storyline of “P2” is recognized to be addressed to a lady by the name of Brittany Byrd, whom we can say up to this point is the main love of Lil Uzi Vert’s life. And as can be deduced from the chorus and the beginning of the first verse, their relationship is on the rocks. However, just as much lyrical content is dedicated to detailing the unfavorable state of their relationship as it is to Lil Uzi’s flexin’. In other words, he makes it abundantly clear that he is in fact wealthy and enjoying life accordingly. And in doing so he puts on blasts those who likewise try to flex but are just putting up a front, as they can’t match his income level.

And despite what type of lingering feelings he may have for Brittany, he also lets it be known that he is very much sensually active in the dating game. So conclusively, we can say the two primary themes of “P2” are a tumultuous romantic relationship the vocalist is in as well as his impressive cash flow.  And on a more general level, it can be said to focus on his overall disposition towards females.

Facts about “P2”

This track serves as a sequel (i.e. “Part 2”) to Lil Uzi Vert’s biggest hit to date, “XO Tour Llif3” (2017). As such, it is said to be based on the same melody, flow and subject matter.

Additionally “XO Tour Llif3” served as the 16th and final track on Uzi Vert’s first official album, “Luv Is Rage 2”. Likewise “P2” serves the same role on his second album, “Eternal Atake” (though there are a couple of bonus tracks which come after it).

For the record, Brittany Byrd is a stylist and social-media personality whom Uzi Vert is said to have been romantically involved with from 2014 to 2016. And the aforementioned “XO Tour Llif3” is also recognized as being about her.

Lil Uzi Vert co-wrote “P2” alongside another musician he works with quite often, the track’s producer TM88.

Probably due to the issues that had been surrounding the release of “Eternal Atake” for months, TM88 wasn’t even aware that the album (as well as this song) had been released by Atlantic Records and Generation Now on 6 March 2020. In fact how such became known to him is when a fan made a comment about how much he enjoyed “P2” in particular directly to the producer.
