“712PM” by Future

“712PM” is a song in which Future presents himself as a type of drug dealer / rap star. In combining those two lifestyles, what we get is someone who’s indeed chillin’ but at the same time keeps it street. That is to say that the vocalist comes off as being a bit uncuffed, such as noting how he goes about basically sleeping with other guys’ wives, which for instance sounds like it may be an allusion to the fling he reportedly had with popular American model and socialite Larsa Pippen.

But sometimes his sexual escapades can backfire, i.e. Future regretting ‘f—ing’ a certain “b–ch”, which may be a reference to Eliza Reign, a model Hendrix impregnated awhile back who has since given him a decent amount of legal hell.

But that is not to imply that Future is coming off as the penitent type on this track. To the contrary, he is very much living that life, ‘naked twins’ prancing around the house and all. And as for the source of his wealth, honestly the lyrics imply that it comes more from drug dealing than the vocalist’s successful music career.

Such assertions, which are common in mainstream rap music, may be more fiction than fact. But they also serve the important purpose of presenting Future as a certified thug. For example, he points out in the second verse that he runs with “real killers”, i.e. those who get the job done, not the types who shoot and miss. And just as a side note, particularly interesting is the fact that the title is not mentioned at all in the lyrics.
