Ali Gatie

Ali Gatie is an R&B singer who was born in Yemen; his parents are from Iraq, and in addition to Iraqi he also holds Canadian citizenship. In fact for the most part it is as a Canadian artist he has made a name for himself, as he actually grew up (from elementary school going) North of the Border, in Toronto to be exact. He began pursuing a music career during his late teens and was so serious about the endeavor that he actually dropped out of college in order to do so. And for him this gamble paid off, as by the age of 20 he started earning a name for himself on the online music scene.

Ali Gatie burst onto the mainstream with his debut single, “It’s You“, in 2019. Said track was an international success in the truest sense of the word. For instance, it reached number one in Belgium and Malaysia and has been certified double-platinum in Australia and Canada. This breakthrough success carried over to his second single, “What If I Told You That I Loved You” (2020), which also charted worldwide. And it was also during 2019 that he dropped his debut album, “You”, via Warner Records.
