Beabadoobee

Beabadoobee is a musician who was born in the Philippines but grew up in the UK. She is a self-taught artist.  That is to say she spent years learning to play the violin before picking up the guitar in her late teens, in the process using YouTube tutorials as her instructors.

Beabadoobee also made a name for herself by covering the songs of other artists, which she would then post onto YouTube. This led to her signing with Dirty Hit Records in 2018. During that same year she dropped her first EP, Lice.

In fact between 2018 and 2019, Beabadoobee came out with five different EPs. And in the process she received notoriety from the likes of NME and the BRIT Awards, both of whom acknowledged her as one of the top up-and-coming artists.

Prior to Beabadoobee’s 2020 debut full-length (Fake It Flowers), she had already become a household name across the globe. She already achieved massive success earlier that year as a feature on a track by Powfu entitled “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head)“. She did not participate on the song per se. Rather it samples a track she dropped in 2017 entitled “Coffee“. Either way, within about six months, “Death Bed” has sold approximately 2,000,000 copies.
