“Yoshimi, Forest, Magdalene” by Beabadoobee

Although Beabadoobee named this track after what she envisions to be the names of her future children, it is in fact a love song. That is to say that the individual she is addressing is a romantic interest, i.e. the guy she perceives as the father of these forthcoming offspring. And for the most part, what she is doing throughout is fantasizing about how she wants their marriage to be. And in once again going back to the title, she already knows what she intends to name their children.

So all things considered, it can be concluded that this overall vision of a lovely family life on behalf of Beabadoobee is highlighted by her having a family alongside a committed husband.

Song’s Inspiration

According to Beabadoobee, this song was heavily inspired by Flaming Lips.

The Flaming Lips is a renowned American band which was created in 1983. The group first started performing with Mark Coyne and his brother Wayne, alongside Dave Kotska and Michael Ivins as its members. Over the years, a number of musicians have performed in the group including Jonathan Donahue, Steven Drozd, and Kliph Scurlock.

Over the years, the group has received lots of accolades and prestigious awards. In 2012, their name entered into the Guinness Book of World Record after they broke the record for the highest number of live concerts in a day. They have also worked with other renowned artists such as Miley Cyrus and The Chemical Brothers.

It is this band that Bea claims inspired the song.
