“Blind” by PrettyMuch

“Blind” is a song in which the American-Canadian boy band PrettyMuch uses the title word or metaphors of its meaning in a variety of contexts to describe the love for their respective significant others. For instance, the song begins with Brandon Arreaga stating that he doesn’t want to be overlooked by his shorty due to her focusing on her career. Later he uses the analogy of a 20/20 sight being useless without his love, though this may also be an allusion to his real-life vision issues. Furthermore, in the chorus, Zion Kuwonu states that whenever he closes his eyes he thinks about his sweetheart.

However, the ultimate comparison the boys put forth is that they would rather go blind then go through life without their honeybuns. In other words, their relationships are more precious to them than even their own sight, which is the most-valued of all senses. The rest of the track is pretty much dedicated to them celebrating the “real love” that they have been blessed with.
