“Stars” by PrettyMuch

Simply put, this is a love song. And its shtick, if you will, features the homeys utilizing a number of cosmic-related metaphors – such as the song’s title for instance – to point to the idea of being in love with the addressee. Indeed the thesis sentiment features the vocalist(s) comparing his romantic interest’s eyes to “the stars above”.  And that is just a fancy way of saying that he finds her to be extremely beautiful.

Being released on 22 January 2021, this is the lead single from PrettyMuch’s 2021 EP Smackables. And “Stars” marks the beginning of a new era for the band, i.e. their first track under Sire Records as opposed to Syco Music.

This track was written by PrettyMuch members E. Honoret, Z. Kuwonu and B. Arreaga alongside another musician, Kyllo. And it was Arreaga and Kyllo who also produced the tune.
