“Cherry” by Harry Styles

In this particular song, the singer is brooding over the loss of a particular lady. That is to say that he and the woman he loves have broken up. And the popular theory behind the track is that it is based on a real-life relationship Harry Styles went through. More specifically, there are ample clues pointing to the idea that it is a reflection of his feelings, at least at a particular time, towards one of his ex-girlfriends, Camille Rowe.

In fact there is a sample of a voicemail which serves as the outro that is theorized to be an actual message Camille once sent to Harry. And the thesis sentiment of “Cherry” is that he misses her, despite the fact that she has already moved on to another man. Indeed her dating someone else has him jealous.

But this song doesn’t conclude with him stating a desire to have her back. Rather it runs more along the lines of illustrating the singer has indeed lost someone whom he truly cares about. And with that being established, it is not clear how the title of this track actually fits into that narrative. What is known though is that Styles has an affinity for naming things after fruits and commonly references them in his songs.

Facts about “Cherry”

Camille Rowe is a French model whom Harry Styles dated from 2017-2018. And it should be noted that the aforementioned outro to the song is in fact recited in French.

Harry Styles was assisted in writing this song by Tyler Johnson. The pair wrote “Cherry with the track’s producers: Sammy Witte, Jeff Bhasker and Kid Harpoon.

This song was released on 13 December 2019, by Columbia Records, as the fifth track on the playlist of Harry Styles’ album “Fine Line”.

Who Is Camille Rowe?

Camille Rowe is a model of French and American descent. She has modeled for top fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret and Vogue. But perhaps her biggest claim to fame, besides dating Harry Styles, is being a Pboy Playmate in 2016. She and Styles dated for about a year, from July 2017 to July 2018. And it still appears to be a mystery to the public as to why they actually parted ways. But they have since gone on to date others. In fact Harry Styles references Camille’s boyfriend at the time of the release of “Cherry”, who is actually a wealthy art dealer named Theo Niarchos, when he drops the line about the addressee and her new partner “walking around his parents’ gallery”.

If the song is truly about Camille and it kinda is she is french right ? And in the song he says “don’t you call him baby” camille is french so she doesnt rlly go by english pet names i suppose well another word for baby in french is “Chéri” which spells cherry and in the total end of the song during the voice message we can hear a “honey” which translates to the french “cheri” now harry has a lot of french fans how didn’t y’all get that before me m surprised or maybe it was said before and i didn’t see it idk bit i honestly thought of it myself i swear and honestly baby is cheri in french so if camille called harry cheri at all times during their relationship it would make sense that that’s what the title would be and hats down that man truly is a freaking genuis tell me if u guys get it or if u want me to elaborate cz i can talk for hours about this
