“Emotionally Scarred” by Lil Baby

The titular premise of this song is based on Lil Baby being “emotionally scarred”. And the way this motif plays out in the first verse is that he has had his heart broken romantically in the past. And that has led him now being the type of guy who does not entertain the idea of seriously committing to a woman, regardless of how she may feel.

Moreover in the chorus he uses the titular phrase to point out how being hated on has made him “heartless”. But honestly the primary subjects of this song would actually be Lil Baby’s wealth and come-up. He presents himself as an individual from humble beginnings. That is to say that at a point his family was actually on government assistance, and he is someone whom many of his peers never thought would actually blow up. So now that he’s making it big, many of his haters and doubters find themselves ashamed.  And of course, he drops quite a few bars illustrating just how much he’s making it big, referring to diamonds, Benzes and other ways he’s living the type of life which previously he only dreamed of.
